Dear Jo:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I completed the Associate degree program at Clark State Community College that you set up for me through Work Plus and the WIA program. I have received my Manufacturing Engineering degree and have enclosed a copy for your records. I am truly indebted to you for your help, and the WIA program.
As you know, I was able to obtain temporary employment last summer through Aerotek Staffing working in AO Smith's Engineering department. This position paid $18 per hour. During my interview with A0 Smith, I was told several times that they only hire elite personnel, and they were very impressed that I was close to finishing the Manufacturing Engineering Degree program at Clark State.
I have recently been employed at Ever Roll Specialties to. in Lawrenceville, Ohio, and now going through the 90 day probation period. Part of the hiring procedure required scoring high on the math and mechanical aptitude tests i was given. The engineering classes I took at Clark State helped prepare me for this testing, and networking with other students was how I learned the procedure to apply for this position. Currently, I am making $12.80 an hour with a promise of making $13.50 within 90days.
The WIA Program has made it possible to find employment, and at a pay rate greater than the typical $9 to $10 an hour positions that are found in this area. I am very grateful for your help with the WIA Program. i know you, Dillon, Jenny, April, and many other Work Plus staff members worked very hard to ensure the completion of the WiA Program to obtain my Manufacturing Engineering Degree.
