Champaign County Literacy Council provides free tutoring in reading, language, writing and math to adult learners with literacy skills below the sixth grade level. Tutoring is provided at C-TEC and local libraries and can be scheduled around learners’ work schedules. The Literacy Council is a United Way agency.

Ohio Department of Job & Family Services provides services for NAFTA-affected workers, conducts re-employment assessments to help recently unemployed workers return quickly to work and to help dislocated workers enter training for employment in “in-demand” fields. ODJFS staff provide employment counseling and job matching services using the State of Ohio labor exchange system (SCOTI) as well as other partner services. Assistance is available to employers in submitting employment opportunities to the on-line labor exchange system and to job seekers in the use of the internet registration.
Job seekers are informed of current job opportunities and referrals are made to prospective employers.
